Starfire, formerly known as Koriand'r, is not a native of Earth. She is from the distant planet Tamaran, and she is a princess on the planet Tamaran. Her older sister, the Blackfire Komand'r, thought otherwise. Blackfire was bent on stealing Starfire's claim to the throne. But these experiments gave Starfire the ability to control the starburst. Starfire used the ability to escape and rescued his sister, but the black fire retaliated and wanted to kill Starfire.
